How do we know if we’re doing well as parents? Is it when our children achieve academic success, secure financial stability, or check off traditional milestones? Is it when they cry less, laugh more, or get good grades? The truth is, there’s no single answer. Every family’s journey looks different, but for those of us striving to raise young people who lead fulfilling, meaningful lives, parenting success is less about external achievements and more about how we show up. It’s about being present for our children in the ways they need, in the ways we know how, and in the ways we’re willing to learn. At its core, parenting is about centering their emotional and mental well-being while fostering an environment where they feel safe, supported, and empowered to explore the world.
