As sad as it may be to admit, our summer season is winding down in the northern hemisphere. The beach days, frozen summer treats, and long hours of daylight are slowly fading as we move into the next season of our lives. But what does that mean for learning in our families? As much as some of us might want to eschew the school calendar, it governs the availability and timing of: programs, uncrowded parks and playgrounds, and even our neighborhood friends. How do our reflections about the learning that did happen in summer inform fall planning? For all of us, how will our schedules shift? What will we be holding on to from the summer months, and what will be harder to let go of? Join us for a conversation and reflection on the near past, the present, and the near future for our individual families and what that all has to do with unschooling.
